NEW OPENINGS
IBB Hotel Merkanti Valletta (Malta)
IBB Hotel Collection is undergoing dynamic growth in Europe. In 2018 it plans to open its second hotel in Malta. The company already actively operates in the business and holiday hotels industry in Germany, Spain, Poland and Malta and has ambitious plans for further expansion.
The IBB Hotel Collection group is interested in its intensive further development. This dynamic hotel chain is about to expand with another hotel facility, this time in Malta. In the capital of Malta, Valletta, it will open an exclusive boutique hotel, managed by IBB Hotel Collection as part of a long-term lease agreement.
IBB Hotel Merkanti Valletta is an exceptional new facility – it is a small, stylish boutique hotel located in an ancient urban palace with 18 rooms and a restaurant. Before the opening, which is planned for the beginning of 2018, the palace will undergo thorough restoration under the supervision of a conservation officer, and will be rebuilt as an elegant hotel. The building is situated in the centre of Valletta, near the palace of the President of Malta, the Grand Master's Palace, and in the vicinity of the ancient, tourist-attracting Pjazza Merkanti, currently under renovation.
"Deciding to start operations in Malta, we are entering a new area of expansion in Europe. IBB Hotel Merkanti Valletta is located in the historic centre of Valletta and will certainly acquire a strong position here soon. Once again, IBBHC has proven that it fully deserves to be considered a professional operator of attractive real properties" – argues Sven von der Heyden, owner of the Von der Heyden Group and main shareholder of IBB Hotel Collection.
Vladimir Saal, President of IBB Hotel Collection, emphasizes that Malta is an attractive tourist destination all year long. "We have decided to choose this location, because Malta is an interesting place to run business operations bringing high incomes from business tourism. Owing to its mild climate, the island attracts tourists who are also interested in the culture of the country, at any time of year. The date of opening the hotel is not a coincidence - in 2018 Valletta will be the European Capital of Culture". Vladimir Saal confirms that as part of its expansion strategy, IBB Hotel Collection intends to open more hotels in Malta, and launch new projects in Germany, Austria, Poland, Portugal and Spain.
IBB Hotel Altmühltal-Eichstätt (Germany)
The IBB Hotel Collection consistently follows its growth strategy.
In the spring of 2020, the group will open a hotel in Eichstätt – a baroque episcopal and university town in the heart of Bavaria. The ground-breaking ceremony takes place in autumn 2017.
The IBB Hotel Collection announces another new object. In the middle of Eichstätt, not far from the train station in the centrally located new quarter “Spitalstadt”, the IBB Hotel Altmühltal-Eichstätt with 90 rooms of different types is about to be built. The elegant 4-star hotel will be complemented by a themed restaurant with a terrace directly at the idyllic Altmühl river, a hotel bar with a bistro area and a fitness room. Multifunctional meeting rooms are available for all kinds of events for up to 100 people. Direct access to indoor vehicle presentations is provided. 40 parking spaces for hotel guests round off the offer.
“With its central location not far from Ingolstadt and at the intersection of the Bavarian centres Munich, Nuremberg, Regensburg and Augsburg, Eichstätt is an ideal location for a new object within the IBB Hotel Collection. As a university town and business location in the growth region of Ingolstadt as well as in the centre of the regional park “Naturpark Altmühltal,” Eichstätt has constant demand for attractive hotel rooms for both business and private travellers,” explained the managing director of the international IBB Hotel Collection, Vladimir Saal.
The owner-led Meier group acts as the project’s developer, builder and investor. This company engages in the areas of construction, project development, sales of building materials and transport concrete, as well as house and rental management, in the region around Eichstätt and Ingolstadt.
The Dömges Architekten AG, Regensburg, is responsible for the hotel’s external architecture. The interior design is creatively managed by the Reimann Architecture team, Hamburg/Eichstätt. The consultancy and monitoring of the transaction process as well as the brokerage of the leasing contract lies in the experienced hands of Thomas Röckelein from Tophotel Consultants based in Baden-Baden.
Opening: Spring 2020
